PSL Wednesday Fixtures

It has been hard for fans of Super Diski to keep up with all the postponements the PSL bosses have enforced this week. The changes to the fixtures have been a blessing in disguise, however, as we will be treated to the second successive night of PSL action.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Polokwane City | Wednesday 28 October | 19:30

Sundowns  9/20
Draw  31/10
Polokwane City  6/1
Mamelodi Sundown will look to continue their climb up the PSL standings when they host Polokwane City tonight. The team from Pretoria have been in sparkling form on their own patch this season, winning both their home fixtures. They’ve managed to find the back of the net seven times in the two fixtures played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. While they have been lethal going forward, their defense has been leaky. They have conceded five goals at home thus far. Their opponents for tonight’s clash have been dreadful on the road. Polokwane City have lost all three of their away games and have shipped seven goals in those defeats while only scoring two. Sundowns are coming off the back of a massive win over Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout Cup and I’m backing them to get another big victory here. I recommend taking the Match Bet + Totals – with Sundowns to win and the total amount of goals to be over 2.5. This bet offers a decent return at 12/10

Orlando Pirates v Golden Arrows | Wednesday 28 October | Orlando Stadium | 19:30

Pirates  6/10
Draw  27/10
Arrows  42/10
Pirates will be desperate to improve on their sluggish start to the season that has seen them accrue only five points from their six games. The Buccaneers managed to secure a Telkom Knockout Cup semi-final spot by defeating Maritzburg United last weekend. While they have been getting the right results in the cup competitions, their league form has been woeful, especially on the road. They have produced a mixed bag of results at home – winning once, drawing once and losing once. They are yet to keep a clean sheet at home and Arrows will try their utmost to ensure that this trend continues. The team from KZN have the exact same away results as Pirates’ home results. Their solitary victory on the road came against SuperSport United on the 20th of October. The result against SuperSport should have given Arrows a massive confidence boost and with Pirates struggling for form, I’m backing Arrows to return to Durban with a point. The draw is tipped at 27/10.
