The first-leg ended in a goalless draw at FNB Stadium last Saturday, and José Riveiro’s side will be aiming to secure an away goal, which could prove crucial in their quest to reach the final.

A 1-1 draw or a 1-0 victory for the Sea Robbers would see them advance to the final. However, if Pyramids win 2-1 or 1-0, Pirates will be eliminated.

A 0-0 draw would send the match to a penalty shootout to determine which team will face the winner of the other semi-final between Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.

Ahead of the encounter, Riveiro expressed his pride in his team’s achievements thus far in the tournament, and assured fans that they would give their all to progress to the next phase.

“I’m very proud of my players (for reaching the semifinal),” Riveiro said.

“I’m really confident of my players myself and my coaching staff for tomorrow (tonight).

“To make sure that we are going to at least try and showcase our talent, our capacity to play football, our ambition.

“And we are not on in control of the results (of the game), but we are in control of what we are going to deliver and hopefully it’s enough to be better than Pyramids in the end of the 90 minutes.”

The last time Pirates reach the Champions League final was in 2013 under the leadership of coach Roger De Sa where they were defeated by Al Ahly.
