CONFIRMED: Golden Arrows, Magesi to play remaining 4 MINUTES of halted league clash

The halted Betway Premiership clash between Magesi and Golden Arrows will be resumed on Thursday with the two teams set to play the remaining four minutes after Wednesday’s clash was called off in the 86th minute.

Wednesday’s clash at the Mpumalanga Stadium was thrown into darkness in the 86th minute with away side Magesi holding a 1-0 lead.

Striker Wonderboy Makhubu had scored late just before the power failure in the 79th minute.

How should the PSL proceed?

The PSL confirmed that the power failure was after a transformer caught fire.

“The Betway Premiership match between Lamontville Golden Arrows and Magesi FC at Mpumalanga Stadium on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, was halted in the 86th minute after a transformer caught fire,” a statement said.

” The match will resume on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 12:00, at the same venue. In accordance with the NSL handbook, only the remaining minutes will be played.

UPDATE – The match was later played with Magesi holding onto their 1-0 lead for the remaining four minutes plus additional time to record their first win of the season.
