Cape Town City FC coach Eric Tinkler admits his brilliant winning record as a coach against Kaizer Chiefs ‘bodes well for his CV’.
Tinkler’s 12th win over the Amakhosi came on Tuesday night in a 1-0 win over the Glamour Boys at FNB Stadium thanks to Khanyisa Mayo’s solitary strike.
He has achieved 12 victories over Chiefs during stints with SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates, Maritzburg United and now the Citizens over 24 matches – impressive considering he has done with so-called smalller teams.
“I didn’t even know [that he’s now won more games against Chiefs than any other side]. As a coach I play every game to win, irrespective of who the opponent is. The fact that I have a good record against Chiefs, it bodes well for my CV I guess,” Tinkler said.
