DStv Premiership Mamelodi Sundowns have unveiled their latest blockbuster signing defender Kegan Johannes as the club seeks to extend their local dominance under a new-look technical team.
The club confirmed Johannes as their latest signing from cross-town rivals SuperSport United.
“Masandawana, defender Kegan Johannes has joined Bafana Ba Style on a multi-year deal!” the club said in a short statement.
“Let’s welcome our newest addition to the team!”
SuperSport United also confirmed the news as Johannes follows Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams in making the switch from Matsatsantsa to the Brazilians.
“SuperSport United FC and Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed for the permanent transfer of defender, Kegan Johannes for an undisclosed fee.” a SuperSport United statement said.
The 23-year-old former Cape Town Spurs defender who can be utilised as either a right-back or in central defence made 65 appearances for SuperSport since joining in 2021.
Johannes will now add competition for the right-back berth alongside the likes of Khuliso Mudau and Thapelo Morena.
