Orlando Pirates utility player Deon Hotto has revealed what it would take to break down stubborn Stellenbosch FC for the Buccaneers to claim their third successive MTN8 title.
Pirates and Stellies meet in the decider of the lucrative tournament at a sold-out Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday at 18:00.
The Sea Robbers head to the match with little concern as they have struggled against the Maroons recently.
The two teams met four times last season, twice in the MTN8 and the league. Stellenbosch defeated the mighty Buccaneers three times while the Soweto giants managed a single victory.
“For us, to win we will need to be focused and move together as a team,” Hotto told the media.
“Stellies are a very difficult team to break you know, and they’ve got speed also.
“We just need to be on our toes and our minds must be on the game because they have a good team.”
Pirates have been Cup kings under the guidance of coach Jose Riveiro as they have won four trophies in two seasons.
The Sea Robbers stand a chance to become the first side to win the MTN8 three times on the trot on Saturday.
“What makes our coach special is that he has transformed the team and given it a different direction,” Hotto said.
“He came with his brand of football and (spoke to us about) how he wanted us to play the game. Luckily for us, we understand the assignments from him.
“For us as players, it’s all about everyone playing their part because if we join forces things are going to move as they are under the coach.”
