His team fell to ninth place in the league standings following a 2-1 defeat to Gallants at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Makabi Lilepo put the home side ahead in the 10th minute, but Matome Mathiane equalised just before halftime, in the 41st minute. A 70th-minute strike from Daniel Msendami sealed the victory for Gallants.

Ouaddou, despite having only recently joined Gallants, has made a considerable impact, helping the team climb from the relegation zone to 10th place, where they are now level with Chiefs on 30 points.

Speaking after the weekend’s game, the Moroccan said on SuperSport: “I know tonight is a very difficult night for my colleague, Nabi.

“I know that he’s a very big name, a very big coach in Africa. He achieved great things in Morocco and in Morocco they love him.

“I think in football it’s about projects, sometimes you need time to settle your ideas, your game model. I believe he’s one of the best coaches in Africa.”
