Kaizer Chiefs target Fiston Mayele scored a brace against Coastal Union in a 3-0 win which ensured Yanga SC are crowned NBC Premier League Champions for the 28th time. Yanga officials, however, confirmed none of their players are for sale as they need them in the CAF Champions League next season.
Kaizer Chiefs are in search of strikers after releasing all their forwards in Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro, Lazarous Kambole and Lebogang Manyama.
Kambole seems to be joining the Tanzanian champions, Yanga SC, on a free transfer while the other three players are still clubless.
Mayele has been in red hot form this season scoring 19 goals and registering four assists in 32 matches. The impressive performances from the DRC International has attracted interest from South Africa and Morocco with Kaizer Chiefs and CAF Confederations Cup champions RS Berkane all showing interest in the services of the NBC Premier League leading goalscorer.
Yanga CEO, Senzo Mbatha, confirmed on his personal Twitter account that Yanga is not looking to sell any of its players.
“We are champions who are going to compete in the CAF Champions League – we need all our arsenal for the battle,” Mbatha Tweeted.
When asked if the club is willing to sell Feisal “Fei Toto” Salum, Mbatha responded by saying:
“Thank you – I repeat we are not moving any of our players this season and next season, teams are not built over night, don’t disturb the process.”
Fiston Mayele is a natural goal scorer and would be good for a club like Kaizer Chiefs or RS Berkane. It seems like Chiefs are failing to match the asking price of Asante Kotoko star, Frank Mbella Etouga. That means Mayele will now be their main target.
