In a tightly contested Betway Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town City and Stellenbosch played out a goalless draw, with both sides creating but failing to convert numerous chances.
The first half saw City’s Amadou Soukouna and Aprocius Petrus miss headers, while Gabriel Amato fired wide from distance.
Stellenbosch responded with Ashley Cupido’s close header and Sanele Barns’ effort, both thwarted by City’s goalkeeper Darren Keet, who made crucial saves.
The second half remained intense but lacked precision, with Chumani Butsaka and Genino Palace missing the target for Stellenbosch.
Despite the stalemate, the match showcased defensive resilience and goalkeeping heroics.
The 0-0 result leaves Cape Town City in 14th place with 27 points from 28 matches, still under threat of relegation as SuperSport United, on 26 points, have a game in hand. Stellenbosch, with 48 points from 28 matches, hold third place.
Arrows strike late to stun 10-man Sekhukhune in five-goal thriller
Golden Arrows clinched a dramatic 3-2 victory over Sekhukhune United at Princess Magogo Stadium, capitalizing on their opponents’ ill-discipline in a match packed with action.
The hosts took an early lead when Tresor Yamba’s own goal put Arrows 1-0 up in the 12th minute.
Sekhukhune’s woes deepened when Shaune Mogaila received a red card in the 37th minute, leaving them with 10 men.
Despite equalizing through Ellis Rammala’s free-kick just before halftime, Sekhukhune fell behind again in the second half.
Nhlanhla Zwane’s stunning strike in the 56th minute and Sbonelo Cele’s free-kick in the 65th restored Arrows’ lead.
Sikhosonke Langa pulled one back for Sekhukhune, but Rammala’s second yellow card in stoppage time sealed their fate.
The win lifts Golden Arrows to 12th place with 30 points from 27 matches, with a crucial fixture against SuperSport United still to come. Sekhukhune, despite the loss, remain fourth with 46 points from 28 matches.

The visitors took the lead just after the half-hour when Yanela Mbuthuma found the back of the net in what was a massive setback for the home team.
While they continued to throw men forward in search of the equaliser, Thulani Gumede doubled Richards Bay’s advantage in the 61st minute.
The defeat means SuperSport slip down into 15th position in the Betway Premiership standings, one point below Cape Town City who have completed their fixtures.
Matsatsantsa will need at least a point in their yet to be completed fixture against Golden Arrows if they are to guarantee their top-flight status for next season.
The point was enough Richards Bay to see them finish the campaign in the top-eight and chance to compete in the MTN8 tournament.
Magesi and Marumo Gallants both happy to take a point
Magesi and Marumo Gallants both guaranteed their top-flight status in the Betway Premiership for next season after playing to a 1-1 draw at the Seshego Stadium.
After a goalless first half, it was Sekela Sithole who gave Gallants lead ten minutes after the interval when the midfielder found the back of the net.
The home team fought back though, and it was Mcedi Vandala who converted from the penalty spot to make sure Magesi took a point from the contest.
Gallants finish their campaign having gathered 32 points from their league matches while Magesi still a fixture remaining when they take on Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.
