The former Bafana Bafana and SuperSport United tactician joined the Brazilians in 2013 and has won an impressive five league titles and countless domestic trophies. Mosimane’s pinnacle in his Sundowns career came in 2016 when he won the CAF Champions League.
His coaching journey started back in 2001 when SuperSport United gave him a chance. He went on to reach six cup finals, winning two of them.
“Jingles” was then earmarked by the South African Football Association as a long term mentor for the national team which prompted the decision to let him serve as an understudy to Carlos Alberto Parreira and Joel Santana leading up to and during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Mosimane indeed took over the coaching reigns after the planet’s greatest soccer spectacle but things didn’t work out for him. Sundowns came calling and the rest is history.
