The Soweto giants aim to reclaim their place at the top of local football and win silverware for the first time in almost a decade.

While Nabi has yet to deliver, his stint, which began at the start of the season, has given some Chiefs supporters hope.

The coach said the ups and downs he has experienced at the helm have given him a better idea of the club and the task.

“We have indeed noticed the joy and the happiness that this club bring to millions of its fans all around South Africa, it’s incredible and unbelievable,” Nabi told media ahead of the bout with Chippa.

“That’s why there’s no sleep when there’s no good result. You feel responsible for millions of people around the country.

“That’s why we are doing everything to build a strong team that will give the joy we saw last Friday (after a win over Stellenbosch FC) consistently, throughout the year and the competition that we are going to play.

“We don’t want to play for a result that comes today and maybe come again in a month or two months.

“We want to have the (opportunity) of building a very good team that will bring joy every week, in and out.”

Nabi has faced the Chilli Boys before, and his men came back with maximum points in that meeting. Youngster Mduduzi Shabalala produced a moment of brilliance to score the only goal in the clash.

“The league cup is always a difficult game, and we can’t rely on the last result that we got against Chippa which by the way was a challenging game unlocked by the mastermind of Shabalala,” Nabi said.

“We expect a very difficult game on Saturday, and we are prepared for it. We have done due diligence. We have worked through everything and set up our tactical technical plan for the day.

“We hope our performance will be very good against a very difficult Chippa team.”
