The agreement, which is subject to a successful medical, sees the 23-year-old return to his hometown club after a challenging spell in South Africa.

Despite making 12 appearances in all competitions this season, Gilberto failed to register a goal or assist, struggling to cement a starting position in Orlando Pirates’ highly competitive midfield.

The Buccaneers boast an array of talent in the middle of the park, including Relebohile Mofokeng, Patrick Maswanganyi, Kabelo Dlamini, Deon Hotto, and Mohau Nkotha, which left limited opportunities for the Angolan international.

This loan move follows recent transfer activity by the Pirates, with defender Sandile Mthethwa joining AmaZulu and attacker Katlego Otladisa heading to Sekhukhune United on loan.

The Buccaneers have had an impressive start to the season, currently sitting second in the Betway Premiership and advancing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The temporary departure of Gilberto allows the player to gain valuable game time while Petro de Luanda benefit from his return.
