PSL side Chippa United are in the news again for their unconventional way of doing things – this time they posting a job advertisement saying they are looking to recruit a new left back.
The club who are notorious for the frequent manner in which they change coaches, decided to forsake the usual method of scouting for players by simply running a job ad.
In a message posted on the clubs Twitter account they wrote: “Chippa United is excited to announce that we are on the lookout for an exceptional left-back to join our esteemed team. Additionally, if the player is a foreigner, he must have at least 10 international caps for his country.”
The message went on to list a number of other physical criteria, saying: “The defender should be 1.8 metres in height, with the age between 19-28 and must have background in topflight football.”
Not surprisingly the tweet drew a lot of perplexed responses from fans and followers. One person who could not be reached for a response however was coach Morgan Mammila who was not available for comment to explain why they asked players to apply instead of scouting.
