Red Card to Cost Conte

Two players chasing the soccer ball

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has received a fine from the Football Association for misconduct following his dismissal in the 1-0 win over Swansea last week.

The Italian coach was sent to the stands by referee Neil Swarbrick just before half-time at Stamford Bridge after remonstrating with the fourth official.

Conte felt that the Swans were guilty of time wasting during the first half and made his feelings known to Lee Mason on the touchline.

The Premier League encounter was still goalless at the time, although the Blues eventually broke the deadlock through Antonio Rudiger 10 minutes into the second half.

The former Italy manager apologised for his behaviour afterwards, but was charged by the FA, who issued him with a £8,000 fine this week.
