Siphelele Ntshangase had given the visitors the lead early on in the game, but Ghanaian forward Peprah struck his first goals for Pirates in quick succession to seal all three points.

The victory moved the Buccaneers up to second in the league standings but still a distant 16 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns.

Gallants struck first in the 12th minute when Ntshangase picked up possession on the left-wing and floated an innocuous ball into the box, but Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane was flat-footed, worried about the on-rushing forward, while the ball nestled into the back of the net.

The lead did not last long though and the Soweto giants hit back with two goals in two minutes midway through the first half.

In the 24th minute, Thembinkosi Lorch played in a beautiful through ball for Peprah who showed good composure to beat Gallants shot-stopper Washington Arubi.

Lorch then provided his second assist of the game as he found space down the right and sent in a low cross that found Peprah unmarked in the box and the forward buried the chance.

Gallants pressed in the final minutes to force an equaliser but their efforts proved in vein as the Buccaneers claimed all three points.
