Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero incurred minor injuries during his brief day holiday to Amsterdam to watch a concert.
The striker was headed to the airport on his way back to Manchester before the cab he was travelling in veered off the road and crashed into a side street lamppost.
The striker suffered fractured ribs but luckily the seatbelt he was wearing saved him from even more serious injuries.
Manchester City released the following statement below:
“Sergio Aguero will be assessed by Club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday.
The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries.
He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash at Chelsea.”
