Spanish La Liga: Gameweek 31 Preview

Real Madrid who have only won one La Liga title since 2012 – are now eight victories away from winning the league. Madrid took control of the Spanish title race by beating Real Sociedad 2-1 away to move top of La Liga above Barcelona who were guilty of dropping points last Friday at Sevilla. The two big guns are level on 65 points and Zinedine Zidane’s men are top because of their superior head-to-head record.

Villarreal 37/20
Draw 9/4
Sevilla 15/10
19:30
The Yellow Submarines have picked up nine points from their last three matches and that now ensures safety and could see them back in the Europa League should they maintain this good form. Sevilla extended their unbeaten streak when playing to a goalless draw against the defending champions Barcelona. However, their last two draws saw them move from third to fourth and can’t afford anymore slip-ups or they will drop further down. This is a difficult game and I can’t separate these two sides so back Both Teams to Score at 15/20.

Leganes 14/10
Draw 37/20
Granada 24/10
22:00
Leganes are slowly running out of time and as things stand they will be relegated unless they pull a miracle. The hosts are currently the worst team in La Liga at the moment and are ultimately bottom of the log. Granada should have been in the race for top four this season, if it wasn’t for the disappointing results they’ve been recording since football returned. Still, they do have the objective of qualifying for the Europa League, and are close to losing that too. I can’t see Granada messing this one up so get on the 24/10.

Valladolid 23/10
Draw 7/4
Getafe 31/20
19:30
It’s now safe to say Real Valladolid will play top flight football next season despite their poor results. The chasing pack just keep dropping even more points and a seven points gap with eight games to go could be enough. Getafe are on a four-match winless streak, although they’ve lost only one match. This is a perfect opportunity to end that dismal run and close the gap on fourth-placed Sevilla. Get on Getafe to return to winning ways.

Levante 47/10
Draw 26/10
Atletico De Madrid 13/20
19:30
In-form Levante welcome a rejuvenated Atletico Madrid to the Estadi Olimpic Camilo Cano. The Granotas put together a run of four unbeaten matches in the league with three draws. The hosts will be full of confidence after tearing Espanyol apart last Saturday. Atletico Madrid are unbeaten in each of their last 10 matches. Consistency is key for Diego Simeones side as they still have UCL quarterfinals coming up soon. Get on Atletico Madrid to make it three in a row.

Barcelona 7/20
Draw 4/1
Athletic Club 7/1
22:00
Barcelona dropped points in their last match and has fallen short in lead in the race for the title. With eight games to go, the Catalans can’t afford anymore slip-ups or they will be handing the title to their fierce rivals. The Barcelona we know will fight till the very last game and that makes them even more dangerous coming into this game. Get on the wounded Barca to thrash Bilbao on a (-1) Handicap 9/10.

Alaves 16/10
Draw 2/1
Osasuna 19/10
19:30
Asier Garitano can be proud of the job he has done with Deportivo Alaves so far in the season. The team is nowhere near the relegation zone and could potentially finish in the top half. The same can be said about Jagoba Arrasate who turned Osasuna into a very competitive side. These coaches have done really well and we could be in for a very good spectacle. Back Both Teams to Score at 1/1.

Real Sociedad 19/20
Draw 23/10
RC Celta 3/1
19:30
Real Sociedad will feel they deserved more in the match against Real Madrid after two very controversial decisions were against them. The team played very well and if it wasn’t for those dodgy decisions we would be speaking a different language and if they can play like that they would win this game comfortably. Celta Vigo were the biggest winners last weekend thrashing Alaves 6-0. A few more wins will secure safety for the visitors and every point gained is important for them at this stage. This won’t be easy but get on Real Sociedad to win and BTTS 28/10.

Real Madrid 1/7
Draw 7/1
RCD Mallorca 17/1
22:00
Real Madrid took full advantage of Barcelona’s slip-up over the past weekend. Los Blancos returned to top spot and are now eight games away from winning the title. Zidane will know not to undermine this Mallorca team as they were the first side who beat them this season. Unfortunately for Mallorca, it gets even tougher as every team has something to play for. Get on Real Madrid to win Both Halves at 1/1.

TREBLE @ 15/1
Real Sociedad to win and BTTS  28/10.
Real Madrid to win Both Halves   1/1.
Alaves vs Osasuna BTTS  1/1
