The Latest on Thomas Lemar

AS Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has made it clear to all admirers of Thomas Lemar that the winger will not leave the Ligue 1 side this month.

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool are both reportedly interested in adding the France international to their respective squads before the end of January.

However, Vasilyev insists there is no chance Monaco will allow the 22-year-old to leave the club, no matter how big the transfer bids are.

“He will stay at Monaco until the end of the season at 100 per cent,” he told RMC.
“If Liverpool or Arsenal come with a big offer before the end of the market? This is not relevant. We will say no because the objectives are clear.
“Without important players like Lemar, we will not succeed.”

Lemar was snapped up by Monaco from SM Caen in 2015. He has since scored 22 goals and provided 27 assists in 112 appearances for the French side in all competitions.
