On the final day of the English Premier League, Manchester City needed a victory to successfully defend the EPL title as Liverpool were hot on their heels.
Liverpool fans would have thought they had a chance when Brighton’s Glen Murray scored the opener in the 27th minute. But 18 seconds later Sergio Aguero scored the equalizer.
That goal seemed to open the floodgates and in the 38th minute Laporte scored a header to put City in front. After the break it was one way traffic from Man City as Riyad Mahrez scored from just outside the box with his right foot sending the ball into the top right corner. In the 72nd minute Ikey Gundogan scored a long range free kick to make it 4 – 1.
