Cristiano Ronaldo made an eyebrow-raising comment about the Saudi Pro League following Al Nassr's 3-2 win over Al Shabab at the KSU Stadium yesterday.
The 38-year-old Portuguese, who debuted in Saudi Arabia in January, scored the winner in Tuesday’s fixture as Al Nassr came back from two down to continue their pursuit of leaders Al Ittihad.

To say the competitiveness and overall playing standard of the Middle Eastern nation’s top tier can improve to such an extent as to be considered among the top five leagues in the world is pretty outlandish to say the least. And it’s not the first time he’s made such a claim.
Either Ronaldo knows something we don’t or there’s an ulterior motive behind his words. Maybe it’s both. Who’s to say?
