Before Time Runs Out – Features
Feature-rich doesn’t accurately describe this game. Before Time Runs Out is chock-full of features that range from basics like free spins and scatter and wild mechanics to insane duals between the Prince and the Vizier.
Duel Feature
This feature triggers after the reels have finished spinning but before they pay out and occurs when the Prince and Vizier symbols appear on the same spin. Remember, the Prince can only appear on reels one and five while the Vizier only appears on reels two and four.
The Prince will make his way over to the Vizier, moving one tile at a time time either vertically or horizontally. During this trip, he can turn up to three symbols into Wilds. Once the Prince reaches the Vizier, the two will duel. If the Prince wins, up to two random symbols can turn into Wilds. The Prince disappears if the Vizier wins.
This feature continues until either all the Prince or Vizier symbols have disappeared.
Free Games Feature
The Free Game feature is triggered when three, four or five Scatter symbols appear anywhere across the reels:
- 10 free games are awarded when three Scatter symbols appear anywhere
- 20 free games are awarded when four scatter symbols appear anywhere
- 50 free games are awarded when five scatter symbols appear anywhere
This is where the Duel Feature becomes particularly interesting. For every duel that the Prince wins against the Vizier during the Free Games, one gem is added to the hourglass. Fill the hourglass with six gems and you’ll immediately win your 66 666 times your initial stake.
Also worth keeping in mind is if the Prince moves over a Blue Potion symbol during the Free Games feature, it will turn into wild and you will be awarded one extra free game. Should he move over a Pink Potion, it’ll also turn into a wild and you will be awarded five extra free games. Remember, these potion symbols can only appear during the Free Spins feature.
Coin Re-Spin Feature
The Coin Re-Spin Feature can only trigger in the base game. It is triggered when four or more gold, silver or copper coins appear on the same payline. This feature starts with three of each coin locked in place. Should another coin land, this too will be locked in place. At the end of the feature, the coin that appears the most will payout as below:
- R150 is awarded if the gold coin is the winner;
- R60 is awarded if the silver coin is the winner;
- R30 is awarded if the bronze coin is the winner.
