Reigning Australian Open champion, Novak Djokovic, tops the betting boards for this year’s edition of the Australian Open, as he bids for his ninth title in this event. With Rafael Nadal winning 2020’s last Grand Slam, in what was a Covid-hit tennis calendar. He comes into this with momentum, but his form at the Australian Open hasn’t been his best. Out his 20 Grand Slam wins only one has come down under, but being the Champion that he is he must always have a chance.
If the top two seeds fluff their lines it does look like an open contest and anyone of the next few seeds can come through and put their name up in lights. That individual could be Alexander Zverev, the German should have won his first Grand Slam in 2020 at the US Open but it looked like nerves got to him in the end, eventually losing in five sets to Dominic Thiem.
Top Bet: Novak Djokovic 12/10
Value Bet: Alexander Zverev 16/1
Danger: Rafael Nadal 5/1

Sofia Kenin will be trying to defend her title she won in 2020 when beating Garbine Murguruza in the final. The sixth seed was impressive in 2020, as her Australian Open form continued into the French Open when finishing off runner-up, going down to Polish tennis sensation Iga Swiatek. The young Polish superstar is the 23rd seed here and with the experience of last season in hand, she should improve and develop even more in 2021 and should also be a massive contender in this tournament.
Another that can never be discounted is Serena Williams. The 39-year old is the most decorated female tennis player of all time, with 23 Grand Slams. If she is able to put her best foot forward best believe she can go all the way.
Top Bet: Iga Swiatek 12/1
Value Bet: Sofia Kenin 14/1
Danger: Serena Williams 9/1
