Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter insists his side “deserved better” from their 2-1 DStv Premiership defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.

Truter’s side took the lead at the Moses Mabhida Stadium through Elias Mokwana on the stroke of half-time.

But instead of building on their goal, Sekhukhune were guilty of wasting a number of chances before Edson Castillo levelled on 59 minutes.

Edmilson Dove then claimed all three points for Amakhosi with his strike with 76 minutes on the clock.

Speaking after the encounter, Truter said in the Citizen: “It’s a match that we feel we should have gotten more from.

“I think Badra (Sangare, the keeper) made one mistake in the build-up and we got punished.

“We cleared the set-play and then switched off, I could see from the side there was a conversation between some players, and they put it in and punished us.”

Truter added: “Other than a few long-range shots that were blocked, I didn’t see Badra making any saves in the first or second halves.

“We had (Chibuike) Ohizu, who had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and he didn’t even take a shot.

“And towards the end, there was a rebound from Vila (Sibusiso Vilakazi) with an open net and he missed it.

“But ja, I think we deserved better, or something from the game. We could have done better as well.”
