Everything you need to know about Hollywoodbets Brand Ambassador Akona Ndungane.
Akona Ndungane formed part of the great Bulls dynasty of the late 2000s, winning three Super 14 titles and two Currie Cup crowns (one shared) during a trophy-laden career in Pretoria. After initially turning out for the Mighty Elephants and Border Bulldogs in the Eastern Cape, Akona made the move to Gauteng and went on to represent the Bulls over 100 times in Super Rugby.
Between 2006 and 2007, the right winger also made 11 Test appearances for the Springboks; culminating in World Cup squad selection under Jake White. Akona featured in the Pool A clash with the USA in Montpellier as the Boks went on to conquer the world for the second time.

The right winger started the 2007 and 2009 Super 14 final wins in Durban and Pretoria respectively, as well as five of the Boks’ six matches during the 2006 Tri-Nations.
Despite suffering from some major injury trouble throughout his playing days, including breaking the same leg on two separate occasions, Akona showed uncanny grit and resilience to bounce back and finish his career on his own terms in 2015.
