The 29-year-old only joined the Buccaneers halfway through the 2022/23 season but struggled for game-time, only featuring in six matches for the Soweto giants.

He had been subject to some enquiries from Cape Town with newly promoted Cape Town Spurs and former club Cape Town City thought to be interested in the winger.  However, Martin has decided to join the Chilli Boys.

New Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila revealed his elation for the transfer as he looks to revamp the Gqeberha-based side and avoid another relegation battle this season.

“His addition to our squad on this extended commitment is a clear indication of our aspirations for the new season,” said Mammila.

Martin becomes the first player to officially leave the Bucs ship during this transfer window with fellow January signing striker Ndumiso Mabena set to join the exodus.

Pirates have already signed Katlego Otladisa, 26, from Marumo Gallants for next season and have been heavily linked with new Bafana Bafana midfield debutant Bathusi Aubaas, 28, from TS Galaxy.
