PERTH

Race 1 – I LOVE MY BAIE  18/10

Perth punters should side with Irish raider I LOVE MY BAIE in this maiden hurdle.

Stuart Crawford’s charge comfortably won a bumper here last year, but came up short under a penalty on his return from 11 months off the track at Haydock.

However, he should strip fitter for the run and looks to have been found a good slot to make a successful transition to the jumping game.

HAYDOCK

Race 1 – TYPICAL WOMAN 7/2

The Ian Williams-trained four-year-old has gone 11 races since registering her sole victory to date in a novice event at Chelmsford in the autumn of 2021.

She has been placed a few times during the intervening period, though, and her mark has fallen from a high of 74 to her current perch of 67.
TYPICAL WOMAN was never a factor on her first start of the current campaign at this venue in April, but has since been beaten just three lengths into fourth place at Newbury and a length and a half when fourth at Southwell just over three weeks ago.

She may have finished even closer last time but for encountering trouble in running and she looks well weighted ahead of her return to Merseyside, with the booking of William Buick clearly a big positive.

Race 4 – SIGNIFICANTLY 28/10

SIGNIFICANTLY can give weight and a beating to his rivals in this six-furlong handicap outing.

The Garswood gelding was rated as high as 105 during his initial spell with Karl Burke, making his present mark of 87 look very enticing.
The five-year-old was snapped up for 50,000 guineas by Julie Camacho in October and there was plenty of encouragement to be taken from his stable debut when beaten a length into fourth place at Ayr in May.

Camacho’s adeptness for training sprinters was highlighted by the Group One success of Shaquille at Royal Ascot and Significantly is expected to add to her tally on Merseyside.

YARMOUTH

Race 4 – ALMARIN SP

ALMARIN should go well on his return to Yarmouth for this handicap test.

The son of Belardo won comfortably over the course and distance on his third novice outing in September and is slowly finding his feet in handicaps.

The application of a visor appears to have helped as he was beaten just half a length on his first start in the headgear and ran well enough when fourth on his latest outing at Haydock before his petrol tank emptied in the last of 10 furlongs.

Returning to a mile on a track that suits, he looks to have plenty in his favour.
