Early Bragging rights at Stake!

Both these giants of Mzansi football clash in their second game of the season with a lot riding on the fixture!

For Sundowns, it’s all about keeping focussed heads and extending their perfect start to the season after brushing aside Sekhukhune United by 2-1 in their opening match of the new campaign on Friday.

Amakhosi had to settle for a point when they were frustrated by Chippa United in a goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida.

No doubt, it is the Glamour Boys who will come into this game much more desparate for a win, having been done a league double last season by the Brazilians. First was a 4-0 home win (goals from Gaston Sirino, Peter Shalulile and Abubeker Nasir) in August 2022 followed by a 1-0 away win (Neo Maema with the only goal) in January of this year.

Predicted Line-ups

For the hosts, Rhulani Mokwena will have a forced change to make at the back after Rivaldo Coetzee was shown red with five minutes left to go in their opening clash with Sekhukhune United.

Chiefs will likely send out the same 11 that created a few chances against Chippa United, but I expect Molefi Ntseki to ring in the changes if goals aren’t coming within the first half of the encounter.
