West Indies vs India | Fifth T20I | Sunday 13 August 2023 | Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderhill | 16:30

West Indies 39/20 | Draw 25/1 | India 42/100

After a good start to the T20I series, the West Indies have lost their way just a bit.

Their fall has also coincided with the pitches being used seeing an improvement in their quality which is not a good sign for the West Indies.

Romario Shepherd, who had bowled very well up until the fourth match, was figured out by India and given the treatment and the rest of the attack faltered.

While their batting was better on a decent track it wasn’t quite good enough to put India under pressure as they failed to keep the scoreboard moving.

India will be thrilled with how their young team has dealt with adversity in this series and come back to force a decider.

Shubman Gill’s return to form in the fourth ODI came right on time as he and young Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Gill and Jaiswal scored at a rate that made the West Indies target look 50 runs light.

Credit must go to the India bowlers who kept picking up wickets to disrupt the West Indies batting efforts with Kuldeep Yadav again a danger with his wrist spin.

Verdict: India

India should take the series now.
