The announcement, made on Monday, comes on the heels of Truter’s exit after successfully guiding Babina Noko to a Nedbank Cup Final and a commendable sixth-place finish in the previous DStv Premiership season.

Seema, the former manager of Polokwane City, assumes the leadership role ‘effective immediately’, bringing a wealth of experience and a track record of securing automatic promotion with his previous team. Seema resigned from his post at Polokwane City, and Sekhukhune are banking on his strategic prowess to elevate their current twelfth position on the DStv Premiership table.

Sekhukhune’s official statement emphasized the urgency of the appointment, citing the challenging schedule ahead, including both League and CAF Confederation Cup fixtures in November and December. Chairman Simon Malatji expressed gratitude for the swift negotiations that culminated in Seema’s appointment.

Seema, known for his dedication and work ethic, acknowledged the challenges ahead in his new role. “There is obviously a lot ahead of us, and therefore I have to hit the ground running. I don’t wish to make any promises except to offer my work ethic and dedication to the Club and its supporters,” said the former likoena’ captain.

The seasoned coach commenced his managerial journey in 2016 at the now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic, where he served as co-coach alongside John Maduka. Having retired from his playing career in 2011, Seema seamlessly transitioned into coaching, leveraging his intimate knowledge of the game from his eight-year spell as captain at ‘Siwelele’.

McDonald Makhubedu, who assumed the caretaker coach role during the transitional period, will resume his position as assistant coach under Seema’s leadership. Nascent Nkwashu has been appointed as the Goalkeeper Coach, further strengthening the coaching staff.

With Seema at the helm, Sekhukhune aim to make significant strides in the upcoming matches, starting with a crucial CAF Confederations Cup clash away against RSB Berkane on Sunday. The Club expressed a warm welcome to coach Seema, underlining their confidence in his ability to guide Babina Noko to new heights in the footballing arena.
