Springbok World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi has let the cat out of the bag as to which rugby hall of famer was solely influential in his move to Racing 92.

If you remember a while back before the start of the Rugby World Cup, the whole world knew that he would be leaving the Hollywoodbets Sharks team after acquiring an early release from his contract.

Shortly after, he then announced that he had signed for Racing 92. He had several offers but when a certain All-Black legend plays a huge role in deciding why he should go over to Racing 92, then it’s a no-brainer.

“I spoke to Dan (Carter) about Racing and he told me it’s the team you’d want to play for. So, when a legend comes through saying that to you then clearly there’s something special going on there”, said Siya.

Kolisi feels that turning out in the Top 14 is a missing piece of his rugby career.

“I can’t wait to play in the French league. The Top 14 is the missing piece for me”, says Kolisi.

The Springbok captain could be set to make his Racing 92 debut on Sunday 26 November when the club takes on La Rochelle in the Top 14.
