“We are emphasizing that coaches at the highest level must be qualified because remember, it’s an elite level and you don’t want to have people who have issues with their own technical know-how and their skills.” said Zwane.

He said what was lacking on their side was that they were out of the convention, now they’re back in the convention and can easily move with speed to ensure that all the coaches are qualified.

Zwane said the plan is very clear.

“From PSL down to LFA there is clear prescripts and regulations. South Africa has to accept that because it is going to assist football development at that level.

“We have agreed that from 2024/2025 season a coach at PSL must have an ‘A’ license and an assistant coach must have a ‘B’ license. As for the NFD, it’s a ‘A’ license for the head coach and a ‘B’ license for the assistant coach. Then when it comes to ABC Motsepe, LFA’s and Universities, those are regulated.” said Zwane.

He added that going forward, they will not be hiring any person who has questionable qualifications.
