FREDERICOS PASSION produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course, four weeks ago. He raced from just off the pace and rallied late to finish second. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
Race 2: FANTASY GIRL (4)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: A Greeff
FANTASY GIRL was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1000m. She should have finished closer as she hung inwards throughout. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Global View will love the rise to 1400m and if keeping on a straight line, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 3: SEPTEMBER FLOWER (9)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: A Greeff
SEPTEMBER FLOWER produced an encouraging debut effort over 1000m on the polytrack. She lost a length leaving the start, but finished off her race nicely. The daughter of One World would have come on from the outing and should love the extra 100m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.
Race 6: SCAMPTON (1)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: S B Kotzen
SCAMPTON set the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Lancaster Bomber takes a drop in class and from his good draw of three, he may be hard to peg back. LAUNCH CODE ran on well when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack. He received a three- pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and should pose a massive threat.

Race 5: SLAINTE MHATH (11)
Jockey: X Ndlovu – Trainer: S B Kotzen
SLAINTE MHATH finished 1.6 lengths behind ALADO’S PRIDE last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 2400m. He carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and may be the one to side with.
