AVERNIAN GODDESS was a beaten odds-on favourite in her last start over this distance on the turf. She took the lead at the 250m mark that day, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Ubukhwebezana. Her debut effort when second over 1400m was eye-catching. The daughter of Vercingetorix is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 4: JANE’S VISION (6)
Jockey: R A Venniker – Trainer: M L Roberts
JANE’S VISION is one of the better bets on today’s card. Her last two starts have been decent. She stayed on when fourth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and if getting a clean start, she should be hard to peg back.

Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: G B Puller
MISS LIALAH has consistent form lines to her name. She raced from a handy position over 1600m last time and stayed on to finish third. All five of her career victories have come over this C&D. She takes a drop back in class and from pole position, she may be the one to side with.

COUNT MARSH ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. S’manga Khumalo retains the ride and the combination can go one better.

MASK ON is better than his last two starts. He took on stronger company over 1400m last time and raced wide around the turn in his penultimate outing over 1200m. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. The son of Coup De Grace has dropped to a competitive rating and from his good draw of four, he may be the one to cause the upset.
