Race 4

CASTEL TROSINO finished third last time out over 1600M, 3.8L behind the winner when having his first run for his new trainer, but he pulled hard the whole way round that day. He would have come on further with that run under his belt and from a handy drawn three, he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

PUNJABI LANDING had his consistency rewarded with his maiden victory last time out over 1800M by 1.8L, this after being slow away and coming three wide into the home straight. He finished off his race well on that occasion and whilst taking on stronger here, he should enjoy going the extra ground. From gate seven, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

QUINKY DEEL put his disappointing penultimate start over 2000M behind him when finishing fourth next time out over the same c&d, three lengths back from the winner, but he stayed on well after racing just behind the pace that day and the form of that race has been franked. He gets a useful draw four and he could complete the trifecta.

Race 5

This looks to be a tricky race with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. I AM GOOD AT THIS was hampered at the 1000M mark when finishing tenth last time out over 1500M, five and a half lengths behind the winner, so a line should be drawn through that effort. The gelding has pulled a cosy draw four and with better luck in running, he could be the one that they all have to beat.

BOY LOVES TO RUN won his last outing over 1300M by 0.8L when having his first run for his new trainer and returning from a 32-week break. He struck the front at the 200M mark and then held off all the late challengers in the dash down to the wire. The gelding jumps from gate ten and could prove good enough to complete a quick double.

DO IT FOR YOU is the stable companion of the latter and showed marked improvement to win his last start over 1600M, albeit by just a head, but it should be noted that he was hampered at the 1000M pole that day, before finishing strongly to record a well-timed win. He starts from gate six and makes a solid backup for the yard.

Race 6

The day’s best bet, DIAMOND DIESEL has won three of his last four starts and goes for his hat-trick after two victories over 1400M, the latest by 1.8L. He raced three wide in that event and had to be held up between the 400M and 200M mark, before kicking clear once he saw daylight. The form of that race has also been franked and despite a wide draw eleven, he could prove hard to topple.

TIME QUEST followed up his penultimate run victory over 1600M with a fourth-place finish next time out over 1800M, 2.3L back from the winner, but he did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day and that was at a stronger centre. In addition, the gelding did hang in over the closing stages and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. From a handy draw four, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick.

ESTADIO MESTALLA has consistent formlines to his name, finishing second in his latest outing over 1400M, 1.8L off the winner, but he did race three wide without cover and come four wide into the home stretch. The gelding is drawn wide in gate twelve, but he should be doing her best work late to be involved in the finish.

Race 7

ARTZINO hung in down the home straight and had to be checked at the 100M mark before ending up in fourth spot last time out over 2000M, 2.7L adrift of the victor, but that was at a stronger centre. He now has his first run for his new trainer and if fully settled into his new surroundings, he should give a good account of himself here, despite a wide draw nine.

NORTH OF ELI is seldom far off the action, having finished second twice prior to ending up in third place last time out over 1200M, just under two lengths back from the winner, but he did jump awkwardly in that event. He has pulled gate six and should turn in another honest performance today.

INFERENCIA is a 4-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she won her last start over 1400M by 2.3L, notwithstanding being forced to race three wide without cover and hanging out down the home stretch. She faces a wide draw eleven, but she should use her early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy and should be included in all bets.
