Manqoba Mngqithi will be confirmed as Mamelodi Sundowns head coach next week, says agent Mike Makaab.
Sundowns recently parted ways with former head coach Rulani Mokwena, who has since joined Moroccan side Wyded AC.
The Brazilians swiftly recalled former first-team Steve Komphela, who had left to join Golden Arrows, while also appointing former AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz in an assistant role.
Mngqithi, who occupied the senior coach role during Mokwena’s rein, is set to be rewarded with the top post with the DStv Premiership champions ahead of the coming season.
Makaab revealed that a deal had been agreed to and all that was needed was for the paperwork to be signed.
“The deal for Manqoba Mngqithi to become Mamelodi Sundowns head coach has been concluded in principle,” Makaab said.
“We are left with paperwork, which should be done this coming week.”
