City recently trekked down the busy N3 to find a new home in Durban after troubles that forced them to ditch the capital of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg.

The rebranded club will now play all their home games at Chatsworth Stadium located south of Durban from Friday when they tackle Casric Stars at 19:30.

City owner and chairman Farook Kadodia said in pursuit of promotion to the top tier, they kept the core of their squad that missed playoffs by a whisker last season intact and made some meaningful additions.

One of those additions is the signing of Premier Soccer League journeyman Gamildien.

“We have got Ruzaigh Gamildien as a new player. He is an experienced player and we believe he will help the team achieve its goals this season,” Kadodia told Hollywoodbets Sports.

The 35-year-old forward was in the books of Pietermaritzburg club Royal in the previous campaign.

According to Transfermarkt.com, the former Bafana Bafana striker has played 208 professional matches at club level and scored 42 goals.

Kadodia also said, contrary to media reports, the club has not signed former Orlando Pirates striker Thamsanqa Gabuza.

Gabuza was recently spotted playing for Maritzburg United during the KZN Premier’s Cup in Ulundi.

“There’s no confirmation for Gabuza, I can’t confirm that,” Kadodia said.

“But we have kept the same technical team led by coach Simo Dladla because we believe they can take the team to the premier division.”
