BRIGHTON

Race 1 No2 PRIDE OF NEPAL (Nap)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Miss S Bowen

Carroll fields his customary strong team at this Sunday seaside fixture and PRIDE OF NEPAL can prove the pick. He was an impressive scorer at Goodwood last week and won’t mind stretching out on the distance ladder under a 4lb higher mark. Bowen has ridden him in all four of his starts since moving to his current trainer, with figures of 4431.

Race 5 No5 HAVANA MOJITO
Trainer: John Gallagher – Jockey: Darragh Keenan

Gallagher has been amongst the winners and this popular trainer can gain further success with HAVANA MOJITO who is most effective on switchback courses. In fact, the grey’s last four outings have been here and at Epsom, a win over course and distance under Keenan being followed by three-frame finishes. The combination can take the spoils at the main expense of Otago.

Race 7 No3 ALFRED COVE
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Luke Morris

I hope ALFRED COVE will prove a bet worth waiting for in the nightcap. He’s been in the form of his life through the mid-summer period, and having had his attention switched to racing on grass can make this a third delivery from his last five starts.

WORCESTER

Race 3 No3 ALMAZHAR GARDE
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Paul O’Brien

Although he’s known as a front-runner, ALMAZHAR GARDE can also be ridden effectively with restraint. I fancy his pilot might well adopt the former tactics on this easy track, and over a trip, he’s been running consistently well. O’Brien’s record in his mount’s last six outings reads 222124, and I fancy the combination to again get into the shake-up.

Race 5 No8 MANOWEST
Traner: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

Five horses have the ability to win this maiden hurdle but at the respective prices, MANOWEST is the best value. The six-year-old backed up a point win in Ireland by finishing second on his debut under Rules at this course. He should have learned plenty from that and appeals as an each-way bet to nothing.

Race 6 No7 CHEMICAL WARFARE
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Jack Tudor

CHEMICAL WARFARE fell on his first visit to this venue but made no mistake when returning over course and distance in July. He put in another solid performance when upped in trip at Uttoxeter and looks to have been found an equally good opportunity now back over hurdles.
