AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy says "new players will be confirmed soon" after revealing the club had already signed Kgotso Moleko and Hendrick Ekstein earlier this week.

Both players were training with Usuthu before securing deals, while fellow trialist Justin Shonga was let go.

McCarthy’s side kick off their 2021/22 campaign with an MTN8 quarter-final against Cape Town City.

And ahead of the encounter, the former Citizens boss confirmed he is happy with the shape of his squad thus far.

McCarthy said on KickOff: “New players will be confirmed soon and obviously Kgosto Moleko has joined us, a player that I was very interested in when he was let go by Kazier Chiefs.

“I think he has a wealth of experience and he’ll give us a different dimension in the team and then we’ve finalised Pule Ekstein as well so these two players join our camp.

“Some experience now with exciting young talent that we’ve got coming through the ranks, so yes the team looks very stable. We look good, we’re not anything special like Sundowns and Chiefs with the lucrative signings they’ve made.

“But where we’re at and where we want to go, these players were perfect for what we needed so I’m very satisfied and happy.”

AmaZulu’s signings for the new season include Keagan Buchanan, Mxolisi Kunene, Matarr Ceesay, Tercious Malepe, Tshepang Moremi, Philani Zulu and Lindani Shange.

Sbu Magaqa (Royal AM) and Tshepang Moremi (Pondo Chiefs) have also both returned from their loan spells.
