To Win Match

Sri Lanka 27/20
Tie 25/1
South Africa 62/100

Sri Lanka

Dinesh Chandimal looked in good touch on his return to the team but old demons returned to haunt him as he was unable to kick on and get his team home.

Wanindu Hasaranga was impressive and the Proteas will once again be wary of the damage the wrist-spinner could do to them.

Sri Lanka will be aware that had luck been on their side the result could well have been very different in the opening match.

Dusmantha Chameera has been asked to step up with the new ball and so far has not delivered, more will be expected of the seamer.

South Africa

The Proteas were once again superb in the powerplay but their tendency to lose their way in the middle overs is a big concern.

The form of Aiden Markram and openers Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks will be a boost to the visitors looking to build momentum ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Keshav Maharaj made his T20I debut as captain of the Proteas and showed why he was picked for the showpiece tournament despite having not played in the format before this tour.

Tabraiz Shamsi remains South Africa’s biggest weapon in these conditions and Sri Lanka will need to find an answer to his skills.

Verdict: South Africa 62/100

The Proteas are on top.
