Chiefs conquer Bucs, again!
Stuart Baxter continues his great run in the Soweto derby, with yet another 2-1 win at the Calabash.
It was an afternoon to remember for new signing Keagan Dolly who scored a second-half brace. Chiefs’ first goal came after Bernard Parker and Khama Billiat put pressure on Orlando Pirates defender Thulani Hlatshwayo – whose back pass failed to reach goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane, Billiat picked up the loose ball and challenged a helpless Ndah to set up Dolly on a 1v1 against Mpontshane which he slotted home and gave AmaKhosi the lead.
Orlando Pirates responded in the last four minutes when Linda Mntambo punished Daniel Akpeyi who failed to handle Terrence Dzvukamanja’s weak header to make it 1-1. In what appeared to be a very controversial decision, match referee Victor Hlungwani pointed to the spot for a foul on Billiat and awarded AmaKhosi a stoppage-time penalty. Kaizer chiefs’ main man Keagan Dolly stepped up to make it 2-1 which ensured three points and bragging rights for his side.

CAF Women’s Champions League
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies began their CAF Women’s Champions League campaign with a win against Vihga Queens of Kenya. Melinda Kgadiethe’s solitary strike in the third minute was enough to see the Tshwane team get their campaign off to a winning start. It was far from a perfect performance, as Sundowns looked cagey in the dying minutes as the Kenyans pushed for a late equalizer. but our girls held on and claimed maximum points.
