India have clinched the series without really having to go up a gear but the final match might prove more of a spectacle as a result.

The Motera Stadium pitch has offered a little more to the seamers than was expected which has so far kept the scoring down.

India vs West Indies | Friday 11 February | Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad | 10:00

To Win Match
India 17/100 | Tie 25/1 | West Indies 17/4

India

India put in another scratchy but sufficient performance in the second ODI with their depth tested by the pandemic.

Prasidh Krishna has stepped up with the ball in hand, ripping the West Indies to shreds with a disciplined display last time out.

While among the batters Suryakumar Yadav has been impressive, staking a claim for further opportunities on the international stage.

Rohit Sharma can be happy with how his team has responded to his leadership even if he is yet to move out of the shadow of Virat Kohli.

West Indies

The West Indies were always going to struggle given the conditions the series has been played under but would have preferred to give a better account of themselves.

Coming into the series with the likes of Brandon King and Nichola Pooran in form they have failed to apply themselves while wielding the willow and as a result haven’t been able to compete.

Jason Holder continues to be the standout performer for the West Indies in 2022 and the men from the Caribbean would love to clone the all-rounder.

They will need to decide if they continue with a four-pronged pace attack in the final match or turn to adding an extra spinner.

Verdict: India 17/100

India should close out the whitewash. They are a formidable unit at home and haven’t really been threatened yet by the visitors.
