Australia sealed the series with an emphatic win at Canberra’s Manuka Oval.

The series now moves to that most famous cathedral of cricket, the MCG, for what are essentially exhibition matches.

Australia vs Sri Lanka | Fourth T20I | Friday 18 February 2022 | Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne | 10:10

Australia

Kane Richardson put in a statement performance for Australia as he finally got a run last time out.

Australia trialled Ashton Agar as an opener in Canberra and could continue te experiment despite an underwhelming effort.

Agar was brilliant with the ball, performing an excellent strangling job through the middle overs that halted the Sri Lanka progress. He has a habit of being highly economical.

Australia weren’t made to chase the game at all at the Manuka Oval and a good start at the MCG would set them up to dominate Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka delivered their worst performance of the series so far after being asked to bat first, after two decent efforts chasing.

Charith Asalanka and Pathum Nissanka appear to be the men most likely to spark something special for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka missed Wanindu Hasaranga’s presence through the middle overs and their attack looks incomplete without him.

Maheesh Theekshana has been a standout performer in this series, but he cannot go it alone and needs some to back him up at the other end.

Verdict: Australia

Sri Lanka might feel this is becoming a very long series.
