Ireland can stay in the hunt for the Six Nations championship, and claim the Triple Crown, with victory over Scotland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

Andy Farrell’s men trail France by two-points on the standings and a win here would not only clinch them the Triple Crown but see them leapfrog the French. Le Bleur face England in Le Crunch later in the day and the result of that match will determine who wins the championship.

Ireland will be rueing their narrow 24-30 defeat in Paris in the second round which saw them relinquish control of the title. No matter the outcome of their Test in Dublin, a France win that evening will seal Fabian Galthie’s men the championship.

Still, the Irish have a shot at winning their first Triple Crown since their Grand Slammers did it in 2018, which is certainly nothing to scoff at. They’ll be heavily favoured to beat Scotland for the sixth time in succession and 10th time in the last 11 Tests between the sides.

It has been another campaign of “what if’s” for Gregor Townsend’s Brave Hearts, whose round two loss in Cardiff really took the wind out of their sails. With arguably the best kicking game in the competition, they’ll still be competitive here, but won’t have the quality to better the Irish at home.

Verdict: Scotland 9/10 (+15.5)

Back the Scots to lose within the cap here.
