Baxter’s side succumbed to a fifth minute Knox Mutizwa goal in their 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

It was the third time Amakhosi have tasted defeat at home in the league this campaign, to leave them in third place on the standings with 10 wins from 20 matches.

The Chief boss said in the Citizen: “If you look globally, during the lockdowns and the empty stadiums, I think the teams who have the most fervent supporters have suffered the most.”

But Baxter added that his team still needs to find another level despite the continued absence of fans.

“Liverpool without their fans were a different proposition. Having said that, I still think we should demand from ourselves professionalism and a professional performance to negate that.

“I don’t think we should say we are only a good team when we have our fans. We should want to play for our fans anyway.

“I think it is a tragedy that the fans are not at the stadium, but at the same time it is selfish of us because we know we have great support.”
