Race 4

SHARKIM has only had the two runs to date, winning over five furlongs on debut and then finishing third over the same c&d next time out, just over a length behind the winner when returning from a 21 week break and the form of that race has been franked. He would have come on further with that run under his belt and from pole position, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

MR CRUISE has finished second in two of his last three runs and raced wide in the latest over 950M before ending up just a half length behind the winner. He faces a wide draw thirteen, but he is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the frontrunners in the dash down to the wire.

JILLONNI is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she jumped awkwardly when finishing third last time out over five furlongs, 5.3L back from the victor. She was returning from a 26 week absence that day and from her handy draw two, she should give the boys a good run for their money.

Race 5

VANDANGLE has won three of his last four starts, the latest over a mile by a short-head. He jumped awkwardly in that race losing two lengths at the start, so that effort was commendable. He will have to negotiate gate thirteen, but on the plus side, he will get 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

BRIDGES TO BABYLON is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she is seldom far off the action and came from some way off the pace to finish third in her latest outing over seven furlongs, one and a half lengths off the winner, this despite taking a bump at the 150M mark. She has a kinder draw seven and will be having her peak run since returning from a 28 week break.

HEREDERO overraced in the middle stages and then had to be held up entering the home stretch before finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs, four and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He will have to overcome a wide draw twelve, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. The gelding will have 1.5kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.

Race 6

A 5yr old mare, a 4yr old and 3yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but the day’s value bet, WINE TIME is taken to lead the field home. She kicked clear of the opposition at the top of the home straight when winning by 1.7L last time out over six furlongs. She jumps from gate five and could give 2kg claiming apprentice Bailey Wheeler a quick double.

OPALEYES followed up her penultimate run victory over 1300M with a third place finish next time out over six furlongs, just under a half length back from the winner. She tried to go from jump to wire that day, but shifted out over the closing stages and the objection lodged against her for that movement resulted in her being demoted to third spot. She will have to overcome a wide draw eleven, but will have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

MISTAKEN IDENTITY won her penultimate start over six furlongs and then disappointed when ending up in tenth place last time out over 1300M, just over eight and a half lengths behind the winner. She gets gate seven and will have her peak run after returning from an 18 week absence and will be hoping to bounce back to her better form today.

Race 7

ROCKBARTON ROMAN went from gun to tape to win his last start over 1500M by a short-head and given that he is drawn the widest of them all in gate seventeen, he is likely to adopt similar tactics today. He has his peak outing after returning from a 21 week rest and should be considered a big runner here.

EXOLAY is a 3yr old filly taking on boys, but she has consistent formlines to her credit finishing third last time out over six furlongs, just over a half length behind the winner when returning from a 17 week break. She was in last place turning for home that day, but found a powerful finish over the closing stages of the contest. She starts from gate seven and a repeat of that last effort would see her right up there when they hit the line.

CANTRELL won his penultimate outing over a mile and the finished eighth next time out over the same c&d, just over eight lengths behind the winner, but it should be noted that he was bumped at the 200M pole that day and took no interest from that point. From his cozy draw four and with better luck in running today, he should be included in all bets.
