In February at the same venue, Chiefs got booted out of the Nedbank Cup by Galaxy, losing 1-0 thanks to a second half goal by Nigerian forward Augustine Chidi Kwem.

Baxter admitted that Chiefs were still feeling a bit shell-shocked by that unexpected loss to Galaxy.

“Beware the man with nothing to lose, that’s what my father used to tell me,” Baxter told media.

“I think they are in a situation where they know they’ve put us out of the Nedbank, we are still smarting… So, we will be going for it,” the Chiefs coach.

On Saturday, Galaxy were hammered 4-1 by Royal AM, but Baxter thinks that poor result will make the Galaxy players desperate for a win, potentially making it a tricky encounter for AmaKhosi.

“And they will be in revenge mode themselves. I am sure it’s going to be difficult for both teams.

“We are chasing the best position we can get – that’s what we are chasing. We don’t know how high we can finish, but what I do know is that if we play properly and keep winning, then we will be in a good place at the end of the season,” Baxter explained.
