RIMAAH has produced two good runs to date. She showed pace over 1160m last time, hung from the 300m mark and found one too good in the form of Maharanee. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She will love the rise to 1450m and from pole position, she should take a power of beating.
Race 2: OUTOFTHEDARKNESS (1)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Janse van Vuur
OUTOFTHEDARKNESS is much better than his last start in the Grade 1 SA Classic. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is unbeaten from two starts on this course and will enjoy the return to the mile. He is the best weighted runner in this contest and should notch up his third career victory.
Race 5: FREED FROM DESIR (1)
Jockey: Kennedy W – Trainer: Peter P
FREED FROM DESIRE ran a cracker when finishing second in the Grade 2 Hawaii Stakes last time. She moved up like a winner, but was caught late by the classy Al Muthana. She has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. She is the best weighted runner in this contest and should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 7: CALIBRE CREST (4)
Jockey: Mariba J – Trainer: Soma J
CALIBRE CREST was super-impressive when winning his maiden at the second time of asking over 1400m. Despite hanging from the 300m mark, he quickened up well and was geared down in the latter stages. He does take on stronger company this afternoon, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Jockey: Nyawo B – Trainer: Magner R
RETALLICK ran a decent race when finishing fourth in his last start over this distance at the Vaal. He showed good speed, but was outrun in the latter stages. He has won three times and finished second three times from seven starts over this distance. He will strip a much fitter horse and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
