PREVIEW: The Swedish league continues

We’re getting closer to the promised land – no need for black fowls just yet! The Swedish league continues (at least in the interim) to appease our need for competitive domestic football, so grab a coffee and work your way through this one.

There are plenty nuggets that just might give your betting slip the added incentive it needs!

Saturday 16 July

2/1 Norrkoping | Draw 2/1 | Malmo 5/4 (15:00)

Malmo keep making me look foolish in truth – so with all the self-confidence I can muster against the facts and figures around the visitors, I’m going to tip them to claim all three points on the road here.

Currently trading at 5/4, I’m not sure you require too much more convincing.

9/20 Djurgarden | Draw 28/10 | Varnamo 52/10 (17:30)

The hosts are starting to string some positive results together and go on a bit of a run. A valiant 1-0 victory over Hammarby, I think Djurgarden can swat away anything their visitors try and throw at them here.

9/20 isn’t going to earn me a bonus – but it’s a banker for all bets.

Sunday 10 July

17/20 AIK | Draw 21/10 | Kalmar 31/10 (15:00)

Not exactly the fixture that is going to shoot the lights out – but a chance nonetheless to earn a couple coins. The inconsistency apparent in both two teams is largely unopposed – but within this we could find scope for a high scoring game.

Neither side have managed a clean sheet for as far as the eye can see – so why not look at both teams scoring at 19/20.

1/1 Hammarby | Draw 9/4 | Elfsborg 23/10 (15:00)

This could be a tricky little encounter, but for the hosts last fixture, neither side has been beaten. Their defensive prowess can be questioned by the number of goals they have conceded – but the ability to churn out positive results shouldn’t be taken for granted.

For my money, I’m on the draw.

19/20 IFK Goteborg | Draw 2/1 | Mjallby 28/10 (15:00)

I think the betting market speaks volumes here – and rightly so. The home side is the stronger of the two and given their run of performances it would be completely irregular of me to suggest any other outcome to this fixture outside of a home win.

The stats are numbers are there should you require them, but when a side is registering the sort of margins IFK are…I suggest you simply get onto the bandwagon.

17/20 Sirius | Draw 24/10 | Degerfors 26/10 (15:00)

It’s another evenly matched fixture for all the wrong reasons. Neither side have managed a win in as many as five outings. Those are the sorts of statistics that should not be taken for granted.

I’m surprised to see the betting market so swayed in favour of the home side – and so I think we can challenge it. I’m on the away win/draw double chance at 8/10.

Monday 18 July

46/10 GIF Sundsvall | Draw 31/10 | Hacken 5/10 (19:00)

At the risk of becoming a bit of a pirate, I think this game is yet another opportunity to go against the grain and look to make a shrewd play in the betting markets. The hosts have not been very good (granted) but at home they look as though they could pull a proverbial bunny out of the hat.

The visitors have been nothing but consistent – but they don’t score many. I’m going to go both teams to score at 7/10. If you have any spare change though, I wouldn’t shy away from this 46/10 price on a home win.

19/20 Varberg | Draw 9/4 | Helsingborg 49/20 (19:00)

Neither side really jumps off the page when looking at their recent results, but in terms of the betting market, the home side are clear favourites. I can’t really find too much to dispute that in honesty, and so I’m not going to put you off it.

The visitors haven’t really struggled, it just seems as though they don’t know how to finish games. Conceding six goals and scoring five in their last five isn’t exactly a major statistic but it certainly isn’t all doom and gloom.

Both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals provides plenty of value in my opinion at 21/20.
