Ireland vs New Zealand | Third T20I | Friday 22 July 2022 | Stormont, Belfast | 17:00

Ireland

Top order failures have meant that Ireland’s efforts haven’t got off the ground in the T20I series after promising signs in the ODIs.

Harry Tector is yet to display the incredible form that helped him power the Irish challenge in Dublin.

A failure to get wickets early on also set them back but they never even got close with their chase effort.

The Irish team have potential but really need to couple that with greater intent to make a splash in T20 cricket.

New Zealand

Dane Cleaver saw his patience and persistence rewarded with his chance to shine at Stormont and he paced his innings well to set up New Zealand’s win.

With both Jimmy Neesham and Michael Bracewell in this lineup New Zealand have tremendous depth and can afford to go harder for longer.

Lockie Ferguson’s pace have been a difference-maker at times and it seems that he is set to be key to this team’s hopes.

Ish Sodhi returned to the team for the first time in some time and didn’t look to have missed a beat.

Verdict: New Zealand

New Zealand should complete the whitewash.
