This has been a low-scoring series and the side that effectively builds pressure will be the one to come out on top.

Bangladesh vs New Zealand | Fourth T20I | 8 September 2021 | Shere-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka | 12:00

To Win Match

Bangladesh 57/100
Tie 25/1
New Zealand 29/20

Bangladesh

Bangladesh have built their home success on spin but it was how they played the turning ball that was their undoing last time out.

The Shere-e-Bangla has proven to be a tough ground to chase on with any kind of score on the board which both sides will need to bear in mind.

Bangladesh need to improve their batting if they are to do well at the T20 World Cup which will see the pitches prepared to ensure that there is a more even contest.

The emergence of new stars for Bangladesh has been promising and the T20I format has allowed many to press for a place in the national team.

New Zealand

New Zealand’s young squad showed some fight at last to keep the series alive, with Ajaz Patel the big hero.

Patel spun his way to four wickets as Bangladesh collapsed and New Zealand were afforded a foothold in the series.

There were also improvements in their batting as Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell gave the tourists a firm backbone with cameos at the death.

Considering the surface, there might only be room for incremental improvements in the batting department, but that could still decide the series.

Verdict: Bangladesh 57/100

The hosts remain in the driver’s seat.
